Abstract

The measurement of Qibla direction is a crucial aspect of performing prayer (salat) for Muslims, particularly at MI Raudlatul Muta’allimin 1 Wonokasian Wonoayu Sidoarjo. This research aims to ensure the accuracy of the Qibla direction using two instruments: a theodolite and a smartphone. The methodology employed is field research with a qualitative and descriptive approach, involving observations and interviews. The measurement results indicate that the actual Qibla direction is more towards the south, contrasting with the initial perception that it leaned northward. This finding is significant for correcting errors in Qibla determination and enhancing the quality of prayer. Therefore, socialization and education on the use of accurate measuring tools are essential to ensure the correct Qibla direction within the madrasah environment.
