The Implementation of Aqeedah Education in the Hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad: A Study of Imam Al-Baghawi's Syarh As-Sunnah

Purpose –Aqeedah education plays a fundamental role in shaping the spiritual and moral foundation of the Muslim community, especially in the face of modern challenges such as globalization and secularization. This study aims to analyze the implementation of aqeedah education in the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad found in Syarh As-Sunnah by Imam Al-Baghawi, and to explore its relevance within the context of contemporary Islamic education systems.
Design/methods/approach– The research method employed is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data is collected through a literature review of hadith texts and explanations presented by Imam Al-Baghawi in his work Syarh As-Sunnah.
Findings– The study finds that Syarh As-Sunnah emphasizes fundamental aqeedah principles such as Tawhid, belief in the Prophets, the Day of Judgment, and Qadar, all of which are relevant in shaping the character of the Muslim youth. These hadiths not only provide theological guidance but also practical applications for teaching aqeedah, which can be incorporated into the contemporary Islamic education curriculum.
Research implications/limitations– The implications of this research suggest that a holistic approach to teaching aqeedah, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, is crucial in creating a generation of Muslims who are both faithful and morally upright.
Originality/value– This study offers original value by highlighting the importance of integrating classical Islamic teachings with the needs of modern education, a topic that has not been extensively explored in previous research.
