Abstract

Purpose–The book Nahwu Wadhih is one of the essential references in Arabic grammar learning, particularly for beginners. This book is renowned for its systematic and gradual approach, complemented by practical examples. However, its relevance to modern learning needs requires re-evaluation. This study aims to analyze the structure of presentation, strengths and weaknesses, and the relevance of the materials in Nahwu Wadhih for contemporary grammar education. Design/methods/approach–This research employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data were collected from various primary and secondary sources, including Nahwu Wadhih and related literature, and were compared with grammar education theories and previous studies. Findings – The findings reveal that Nahwu Wadhih excels in presenting materials that are easy to understand and in integrating theory with exercises. However, the book has limitations in addressing modern contexts and contemporary language variations. While its relevance remains strong in traditional curriculum-based education, it requires adaptation to meet the demands of learning in the era of globalization, such as integrating technology and enriching contextual materials. Research implications/limitations–The implications of this study highlight the importance of innovation in presenting Arabic grammar materials to align with current educational needs. Originality/value – this research reveals the potential of Nahwu Wadhih to be further developed as a modern learning resource while preserving its traditional essence.
