Abstrak

Purpose –Arabic holds significant importance as the language of the Qur'an and a medium of communication in the Islamic world, necessitating its teaching to be tailored to the needs of children as the next generation. However, the lack of a curriculum design adaptive to children's characteristics often poses a major challenge in its implementation. This study aims to analyze and develop a holistic, engaging, and developmentally appropriate curriculum design for Arabic language learning for children.

Design/methods/approach–The research employs a library research method, analyzing various literature sources, including books, scientific articles, and previous studies. The study focuses on aspects such as objectives, materials, methods, media, and evaluation in Arabic language learning for children.

Findings –The findings reveal that an ideal curriculum design should be activity-based, interactive, and enjoyable, incorporating elements such as games, storytelling, and songs. Furthermore, the integration of digital and traditional media, alongside teacher training in educational technology, plays a vital role in enhancing learning effectiveness. Continuous evaluation is also required to ensure that learning objectives align with the individual needs of students.

Research implications/limitations –This research has practical implications for the development of Arabic language learning curricula in schools and Islamic educational institutions.

Originality/value –This study contributes original insights by offering a holistic approach that integrates children's needs, digital media, and continuous evaluation, serving as a reference for developing adaptive and innovative Arabic language curricula.
